  • Wind Is So Fickle

Flying today was a learning experience to say the least.  Rick and I were planning to solo me at Troutdale, but the wind was blowing SO hard that it wasn’t going to happen.  Wind went from around 15 knots to 25+ knots.

  • Troutdale-Aurora-Scappoose-Troutdale Loop

Yesterday, I had a successful flight from Troutdale to Aurora, to Scappoose, then back home to Troutdale.  I had my plan for going the opposite of this plan, but due to incoming clouds, this was the only way this flight was going to be completed.

  • Short Field Takeoffs and Landings

Flight today was focused on more landings staying in the landing pattern of the Troutdale Aiport (KTTD) since the clouds were so low, I really couldn’t do much else.

  • Landings In Marginal VFR

The flight for today was quite short.  Just a half hour, but in that time I was able to get four landings in staying in the pattern.  I haven’t talked much about Marginal VFR on here, so I figure I’ll give you a brief rundown. Marginal VFR is between 3 and 5miles visibility and between […]
