Unexpected Solo
It had been over a week since my last flight where I took time to practice soft/short field landings/departures. Today I did an unexpected solo flight as my instructor was preoccupied.

TTD-SPB-UAO-4S9-TTD Dual Cross Country
The last flight I had was soloing at Troutdale (TTD) on December 13th; two days before my vacation. After finally soloing at Troutdale, rather than continuing to fly, I went on a vacation to Costa Rica. The trip was awesome and not the worst of times to go, but there was some excellent weather here […]

Troutdale-Aurora-Scappoose-Troutdale Loop

Happy Birthday To Me!
Monday was quite a lot for me. Not only did I have a great flight, I also turned 27, had my 1-yr anniversary living in the Portland area, and Tuesday brought 1-yr working at my job. What an awesome day. I’m now soloed at all three of the non-towered airports around Twin Oaks. Those are […]

Rick showed me a short field takeoff on Monday, but I never had a chance to perform it myself. This flight we started my flying with this. Short Field Takeoff The idea […]
