  • 100 Hours

Today’s flight, my 84th one, marks a pretty significant point in my learning to fly.  I reached 100 hours of time flying!  I also soloed again during this flight here at Troutdale.  It also reaches four years of “Looking To The Sky.”  Crazy to think that I started this four years ago, and though I’m […]

  • Getting Better

Flight number two after getting back into things.  The flight today started pretty smooth with a great flight prep, and take-off, however I realized pretty soon after that I was quite rusty.

  • Back In The Saddle

After making the plan to finish my pilots license around a month ago, I finally had my first flight.  Yeah, it has been quite a while since my last flight (September 17, 2013), however for it being so long, I flew quite well.

  • Back Again

  • Flying on 9/11 – Remembering 12 Years Ago

This morning I went flying with my instructor Rick.  It was quite the flight as it was quite the reminder of what happened twelve years ago.  To think that it’s been twelve years such such a catastrophic disaster.  No matter what people believe was the cause or the reason, the fact that it happened is […]

  • An Update – About time!

It’s been quite a long time since I’ve written a post on LookingToTheSky.com.  I haven’t taken the time to make the updates like I should after each of my flights. I first created this blog for myself to keep track of how getting my pilots license is all going, and since my last entry, I’ve […]

  • Gone A Month? Go Practice Landings!

Since my flight to McMinnville, I haven’t flown a lick.  In between last flight and this one, I decided to take a couple weeks and go to Spain.  What a trip! Well, with a month being away, I decided that doing a few practice landings and getting back in the air was much desired.
