  • Playing In The Grass

This morning flight was spent around Lenhardt Airpark (7S9) and Mulino State Airport (4S9). Both of these are small airports with the former allowing for grass landings and take offs.

  • Tillamook 50nm+ Solo Cross Country

Friday afternoon I had one of the most amazing flights to date.  This flight was also an important one as it was my first solo 50nm+ flight to a brand new airport.  I’ve never flown to Tillamook Airport (KTMK)(or the coast for that matter), but had my opportunity to do so.  It was beautiful!

  • Landing with a Smile

Today was my first flight to Valley View Airport (5S9) near Estacada, Oregon.  This flight ended up being one of the most enjoyable and successful flights I’ve had in a long time!

  • TTD-SPB-UAO-4S9-TTD Dual Cross Country

The last flight I had was soloing at Troutdale (TTD) on December 13th; two days before my vacation.  After finally soloing at Troutdale, rather than continuing to fly, I went on a vacation to Costa Rica.  The trip was awesome and not the worst of times to go, but there was some excellent weather here […]

  • Finally Soloed at Troutdale

After a few attempts in weather that wasn’t so great, I booked a flight a couple days before I left to Costa Rica in anticipation of being able to go for my solo.  Well, the weather was cooperating and I was finally able to do my solo flight at Troutdale Airport.

  • Wind Is So Fickle

Flying today was a learning experience to say the least.  Rick and I were planning to solo me at Troutdale, but the wind was blowing SO hard that it wasn’t going to happen.  Wind went from around 15 knots to 25+ knots.

  • Finally Flew Solo!!!

Last year in June was my last solo flight, since then I pretty much quit flying.  However, after my restart of my lessons in September, I finally was able to get soloed at a local airport again!

  • Troutdale-Aurora-Scappoose-Troutdale Loop

Yesterday, I had a successful flight from Troutdale to Aurora, to Scappoose, then back home to Troutdale.  I had my plan for going the opposite of this plan, but due to incoming clouds, this was the only way this flight was going to be completed.
