Downtown Portland with Josh and Meredith
This week, I had the pleasure of flying Josh and his sister Meredith around downtown Portland. Josh is looking to get his pilots license over in North Carolina in the upcoming future, so it was great to be able to get him up in the cockpit and show him what it is like to fly around Portland.
Because of traffic getting to Troutdale, we ended up doing a shorter flight than planned. We went over the procedures to get the plane ready, gave some info on safety, and got into the cockpit for our flight. We took off with “flight following” to the north of Portland airport. Once aligned with the PDX tower, we flew over the airport and made our way towards the St. Johns Bridge. The flight took us from the St. Johns Bridge, past the Fremont Bridge towards OHSU. Once we made it to the southern part of downtown, we made our way along the Willamette river north and eventually east in the direction of Mt. Tabor. We soon finished the flight back into Troutdale.
Thanks for letting me take you flying Josh and Meredith!
