Pre-Solo Written Test
Yesterday, James and I were supposed to fly, but due to the weather, I wasn’t able to do so. Instead James and I had a ground lesson followed by me taking my pre-solo written test.
The ground schooling covered some new sections and went over some others. Some of the sections we covered were:
- Firsts in Aviation
- Engine Components
- Importance of Magnetos
- Aircraft Fuel
- Workload Management
- Runway Lengths
- Light Gun Signals
- Wake Turbulence
- Required Aircraft Docs (ARROW)
- Aircraft Velocities (VX, VY, VA, etc.)
Following the ground I took my pre-solo written exam. The test was a three page test covering information about the airports around, the plane I am flying and things to keep in mind when flying. I did pretty well overall on the test, though I did miss a few parts I went over with James. I scored and 89% which made me feel pretty confident that I’m learning things! 🙂
