Friday Flight Then Poker
I usually only fly Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. However with the weather getting in the way and life for me and my instructor, this last week I had to do a flight on Friday to get one in. Not that it was a problem, just different. I work half-days on Friday so I was able to get to the airport around 1pm instead of the usual 4:30. I really liked flying at this time and on Friday since there weren’t a lot of people flying (could have been due to the wind) and when I finished I still had the majority of my day to fly.
The flight was more practice. Not really learning anything new, just trying to sink in what I’ve already learned. I practiced S-turns and turns around a point and then finished with landings.
After the flight Christina and I went down to Salem so I could have a night with the boys playing cards, and for Christina to celebrate her sisters birthday.
The game consisted of playing Texas Hold-em with a $10 buy-in. Cigars, snacks, and drinks were also on hand and quite enjoyed by all.
There were twelve of us and I ended up taking the pot for $90! ($10 for 3rd, $20 for 2nd) Such a good time!
