Rain…I Should Have Known
The Fall time in Oregon is usually pretty wet, and before I began learning to fly, I should have paid more attention to this and perhaps should have started earlier or pushed it out till the spring time. Learning to fly in the rain isn’t going to stop me, just will make things more difficult.
Looking outside right now, the rain doesn’t seem to be falling as hard, just lots and lots of clouds. When flying, it is good to have a few miles of visibility, and with the clouds and fog, this doesn’t always happen. I’m going to do what I can to make my training happen today. This may end up being just ground training or if the weather clears up a bit, then I’ll try to fly (since that is so much more enjoyable than being stuck on the ground).
This weekend I was supposed to put some time into studying for flying, however with me going to PAX (a video game convention), my days were filled with other things in mind. I did get back late on Sunday so that I could study on Monday, but Monday ended up being filled up with going to Dallas, Oregon to pick up my bearded dragon and to get him a new cage. With such a busy weekend, I only got an hour of good studying in. I read a bit of two different chapters: systems and basic aerodynamics. Learned some good stuff, and a bit of it was a review. Overall I’m getting the terminology down and picking up on what it takes to fly.
