I have my Aviation Medical Certificate
A few weeks back (July 14th) before I went through finding a loan and locating where I wanted to take my lessons, I went and I got my Aviation Medical Certificate (Class III). It was a lot like a physical – minus the “turn your head an cough” part.
The main reason I got it when I did was so that I could guarantee that I’d be able to fly solo when that day comes. Also, cause I wanted to get it now that I am healthy so there wouldn’t be any problems.
I was happy to find out that my vision has improved since I was last tested (10/20 up from 15/20). Also I found out that I am in perfect condition to become a pilot! My examiner, Jimmie N. Tarro, MD, ended up giving me a clean bill of health. The appointment took roughly thirty minutes and cost only $90 (other places were charging upwards of $200! ouch!)
Even though I knew I’d be able to pass this, I was still extremely excited to get this because it meant that I was one step closer to making a dream of mine come true; getting my pilot license.
